DoD Announces Same-Sex Spouse Benefits

The DoD announced its plan to extend benefits to same-sex spouses of service members and DoD civilian employees. Click on the link to view this video or cut and paste into your web browser. The benefits will be retroactive to 26 June 2013 which was the date of the Supreme Court's decision to declare Section Three of the Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional. Additional service-specific guidance for sailors and families will be disseminated as soon as it becomes available.
